All My Pretty Ones out of San Francisco departs from the textbook American folk band with their witty, relevant lyrics and infusion of urban/ indie elements. Cello, oboe, upright bass, piano, guitar, ukelele and drums bring interesting chord and rhythm changes, and combine with balanced harmonies and distinct, [generally] carefree vocals. …Which are simultaneously playful, and sincere. Fresh arrangements and a unique approach to songwriting is blended with classic elements from folk and indie music. Core members include Jocelyn Bentley-Prestwish, Doug Keen, Ami Nasimoto and frontman Derek Schmidt.

All My Pretty Ones works to push innovation in their songwriting and composition. The diverse group provides the audience with something unexpected and unconventional in terms of today’s popular music, as the artists all contribute to the arrangements. There’s a strong emphasis on collaboration, and they feed off the variations that result from the range of perspectives.

All My Pretty Ones has spent the summer introducing new players and preparing for more recording, and has a string of shows lined up for fall in and around San Francisco to continue promoting their newest EP, Assemblage.
